Justin Verlander’s brother, Ben Verlander, revealed his predictions for the ongoing NLCS and ALCS on Monday.
The NLCS is being played between the Milwaukee Brewers and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Guardians and Tampa Bay Rays are in the ALCS.
Verlander predicted that the Dodgers will defeat the Brewers in six games to reach their third straight World Series. Interestingly, he named Shohei Ohtani as the potential NLCS MVP, which is somewhat surprising because the Japanese star has struggled lately. On the other hand, the MLB analyst picked the Rays to win the ALCS in five games, tabbing Junior Caminero to win the MVP.
“Nobody Would Ever Choose Those Two”
Fans shared their thoughts on Verlander’s predictions:
“Super bold. Nobody would ever choose those two,” one fan wrote.

The Dodgers lost the NLCS opener 2-1 to the Brewers on Sunday night. They are scheduled to face each other again in Game 2 on Monday. Meanwhile, the ALCS opener will begin on Monday at Tropicana Field.
Justin Verlander’s Brother Reacts to Dodgers-Brewers NLCS Game 1
On Sunday, Ben Verlander shared a video of himself watching the NLCS Game 1 between the Dodgers and the Brewers.
The game featured two pitching aces: the Dodgers’ Tarik Skubal versus the Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski. The Dodgers wore down the right-hander and even got a run off him before he exited the game after recording one out in the fifth inning. On the other hand, Skubal allowed a solo home run to Brice Turang in the fourth, and then he allowed a go-ahead hit from Luis Lara in the fifth.
After the final out was recorded, Verlander hyped up the NLCS matchup between the Dodgers and the Brewers.
“Wow, what a ball game. Brewers take Game 1,” Verlander said. “We’re in store for an all-time classic here. This feels like an all-time classic series we’re in store for. Both starters really good. Skubal, Misiorowski, both offenses did their job getting them out of the game. Brewers played small ball, got the second run across. Bullpens did their job. Brewers’ bullpen was lights out. What a baseball game. 2-1, Brew Crew. All-time series coming our way.”
Shohei Ohtani, who is Verlander’s NLCS pick, went 1-for-3 with a walk. Let’s see if Verlander’s predictions eventually turn out to be correct.
