It warned that lasting industrial harmony could not be achieved without resolving the grievances at the centre of the dispute.

Union directs FCT workers to stay home

Following the failure to reach a resolution, the NLC instructed all workers in the FCT, including those in the public and private sectors, to stay away from their workplaces from October 7 until further notice.

The council stressed that the action was not intended to be a temporary warning strike, declaring that the industrial action would continue indefinitely until its demands were addressed.

The NLC appealed to residents of the territory, particularly parents, to be patient with workers during the strike.

It also called on civil society organisations and other concerned Nigerians to intervene by urging the FCT Administration to resolve the dispute and prevent further disruption to the education sector.
