Nigeria’s mineral deal with America won’t save Tinubu from FBI probe – US firm

A United States advocacy firm, Von Batten-Montague-York, says Nigeria’s mineral deal with America will not save President Bola Tinubu from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, drug investigation.

Von Batten-Montague-York made this assertion in a post on its verified X handle on Wednesday.

Recall that the United States and Nigeria reportedly signed a framework agreement in New York on September 24 to deepen cooperation and investment in Nigeria’s mining sector.

According to the firm: “Despite speculation in Nigeria surrounding the signed Memorandum of Understanding, MoU, with the Nigerian Presidency and regardless of President Tinubu’s alleged intentions, the United States did not offer anything in return for the mines.

“In our opinion, If the Nigerian Presidency viewed the mines as a way to secure a meeting with President Donald Trump or to suppress President Tinubu’s alleged FBI and Drug Enforcement Administration Headquarters, DEAHQ, heroin-trafficking records, then someone on President Tinubu’s team sold him a bridge to nowhere.”
