The Nigerian Army has opened applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission, SSCC, Course 50/2027.
In a statement posted on X, the Army invited eligible Nigerians to apply for commission as officers, stressing that the recruitment exercise is open to persons who meet the stipulated requirements.
The Army added that successful candidates will undergo military training and, upon commissioning, serve in the Nigerian Army’s Combat Arms, including the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as Combat Support Arms, comprising Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
It further stated that prospective applicants are required to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal, http://nashortservice.army.mil.ng, select the SSCC option and carefully follow the application instructions.
The Army advised applicants to rely only on information published through its official recruitment channels, noting that the application deadline is Saturday, October 17, 2026.
It, however, warned members of the public to disregard any online recruitment portal or announcement purportedly opened before the official publication.
“For enquiries, applicants can contact: 07016874003 and 07047340295. The lines are available daily from 8am to 6pm. Eligible Nigerians should take advantage of the opportunity to join the military and serve the nation,” the statement said.
