Nick Wright has ‘old school’ reaction to Chiefs getting dominated by Seahawks
Nick Wright did not hold back after the Kansas City Chiefs suffered their first defeat of the 2026 NFL season, with the Fox Sports analyst describing their 20-3 loss to the Seattle Seahawks as an “old school a** whupping”.
The Chiefs entered the contest unbeaten but struggled to find any rhythm against the reigning Super Bowl champions, who controlled the game on both sides of the ball.
Seattle’s victory was led by wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who recorded 150 receiving yards and a touchdown as the Seahawks improved to 4-3.

Wright shared his reaction on X after watching Kansas City endure a difficult night, making it clear that he felt the Seahawks had been superior throughout the contest.
“Old school a** whupping by the champs tonight. They dominated in every phase of the game,” he wrote.
The result was a statement performance from Seattle, whose defence limited Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs to just three points. Kansas City managed only 213 total yards, including 50 on the ground.
Mahomes finished with 165 passing yards and an interception, while the Seahawks also kept Kenneth Walker III quiet after the running back joined Kansas City in the off-season.
Walker managed just 36 yards from 14 carries against his former team, a significant drop from the league-leading 133 rushing yards per game he had averaged entering the contest.
Meanwhile, Smith-Njigba proved difficult to contain. The receiver caught nine passes for 150 yards and a touchdown, while quarterback Sam Darnold threw for 257 yards and a score.
Chiefs head coach Andy Reid accepted responsibility for the disappointing performance, admitting that his team struggled in all three phases.
“Listen, all three phases we struggled, so we’ve got to do better, and that’s my responsibility,” Reid said.
“So I take full responsibility for this. We’ve got to play better as a team.”
Kansas City will now look to respond against the Denver Broncos, while Seattle will aim to build on a victory that showed why the defending champions remain a formidable opponent.
