ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler put together his annual ranking of the top offensive tackles entering the 2026 NFL season, but nowhere to be found was the Jacksonville Jaguars’ Anton Harrison.
Cole Van Lanen was left off as well.
Van Lanen’s absence is understood, however, given the relatively small sample size he had playing tackle last season. But Harrison is coming off a strong year.
What makes Fowler’s rankings unique is that they are constructed with the input of 70 NFL execs, coaches, and scouts as the voters. Other elements, such as research, interviews, and film analysis by Matt Bowen, factor in as well.
With all of that taken into account, Fowler then puts together the top 10, highlights a few honorable mentions, and notes which players received votes.
Harrison didn’t appear in any category.
Harrison’s play took a step forward last season. Out of 92 eligible offensive tackles, he ranked 29th in PFF’s pass-blocking efficiency metric. In run-blocking grade, he was tied for 50th.
While NFL talent evaluators may want to see more from Harrison, he is already on the radar of the Houston Texans‘ Will Anderson, one of the most disruptive pass rushers in the game.
Earlier this offseason, Anderson discussed which tackles were the most challenging to go up against, and one of the players mentioned was Harrison.
Heading into Year 2 under Liam Coen, offensive coordinator Grant Udinski views Harrison as a player with a very high ceiling and more room to grow.
“Certainly continued growth,” said Udinski during offseason programs. “We know that progression is never linear, but hopefully we can continue to compound off the things that he built on last year. He’s a guy, he knows this, that his ceiling is essentially as high as he wants it to be.”
