NFF President Gusau, other board members reportedly resign

The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau and other board members have reportedly resigned from their positions.

This follows intense scrutiny over their handling of football in the country.

The development was reportedly triggered by the Super Falcons’ failure to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria have always qualified for the tournament throughout its history.

The NFF board had come under intense pressure following the poor management of Nigerian football.

The Super Eagles also failed to qualify for back-to-back World Cups, missing out on the 2026 edition.

A former media officer of the Eagles, Colin Udoh, wrote on X: “I have just been informed by a top @NatSportsComm official that @thenff President @IbrahimMusaGus1 and board have resigned.
