Liverpool have their eyes on the next Elliot Anderson. A €70m deal could end up being a steal.

Elliot Anderson was one of the big Premier League success stories over the last two years. The England star rose dramatically at Nottingham Forest, firmly establishing himself as one of the best midfielders in the country.

He was truly exceptional last season. That earned him a gigantic move to Manchester City, with the fee not just dictated by his ability but by the fact everyone wanted him. There wasn’t a club in the Premier League who wouldn’t take him on, with just about every team willing to pay big money.

City won the battle and it forces the rest of the clubs to find the next-best thing. Who is the next Elliott Anderson?

Liverpool might have found him.

Elliot Anderson to Lamine Camara

The most statistically similar player in the top five leagues – from any of the last three seasons – to Anderson is Lamine Camara’s 2025/26 season. The Senegal star was fantastic last season, earning plaudits everywhere.

We’re massive fans of the player and he’s firmly one we hoped Liverpool would sign in the summer. But it seems the Reds thought about it and continue to do so.

Journalist Ben Jacobs claims Liverpool called both Camara and AS Monaco to assure them of an offer in 2027. Potentially for around €70m.

It would be a sensational signing. Camara appears the most Anderson-like player in football right now and we know how well the now-City star performed in the Premier League.

Getting your own version for a fraction of the cost? Liverpool will naturally be all over that as they look to reinvent their midfield next year and we think teams will struggle to find a better deal, quite honestly.

Fingers crossed Liverpool can get it done, then. They’ve made contact and quite plainly turned the player’s head after his move to Chelsea collapsed at the deadline.

This one feels like it’s on the brink – if the Reds follow through with their promise.
