There are mixed reports in Italy regarding Juventus and their interest in Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth, as one newspaper claims that the Bianconeri have an agreement on personal terms with the Norway international, while others claim that it will be an uphill battle to convince his current employers into selling.

Where Juventus stand in pursuit of Atletico’s Sorloth

Juventus have recently learned that Dusan Vlahovic will not be extending his contract, which will expire at the end of the month, and now the Bianconeri are left needing a new starter at centre-forward.

Recent reports claim that former loanee Randal Kolo Muani and Atletico Madrid’s Sorloth are the two leading options, and some reports claim that signing one does not rule out the signing of the other.

As for Sorloth, the Corriere dello Sport claims that there is an agreement in principle on personal terms between Juventus and Sorloth’s camp, for a four-year contract worth €4m per season in wages. This is an increase on the €3m-per-year the 30-year-old currently earns in the Spanish capital.

However, other outlets in Italy are less confident in Juventus’s ability to close a deal with Atletico.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Juve are not the only interested party and that there are plenty of suitors in the Premier League as well. Atletico are said to be taking their time in making a decision, with an eye on the World Cup, knowing that a strong set of performances may increase the striker’s market value.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that a ‘bidding war’ is the ideal situation for Atletico, while Juventus have already established that they do not wish to spend any more than €30m on the potential signing of Sorloth.

Juventus and Atletico are also discussing a permanent transfer for Nico Gonzalez, who spent the 2025-26 season on loan in Madrid, but as per Corriere dello Sport, the Argentine will not be included in a potential exchange deal involving Sorloth. For accountant reasons, these are two separate deals.
