New Zealand vs. India 2nd ODI live score, updates and toss result
After 31 overs, NZ are 100/5
Daryl Mitchell and Mitchell Santner spearheaded a gritty New Zealand recovery in the middle overs, guiding the visitors to 100/5 after being reduced to 53/5. Mitchell continued to hold one end firmly to reach 44*, while skipper Santner acted as a foil, contributing 23 off 28 balls to build a critical 46-run partnership. Despite Axar Patel keeping things tight with 5-1-20-0 and India’s pacers rotating through second spells, New Zealand have managed to gradually lift their run rate above three an over heading into the final 16 overs of the innings.
After 20 overs, NZ are 53/5
Gurnoor Brar delivered a devastating over of fast bowling in the 20th to leave New Zealand in tatters at 53/5. After Tom Latham and Daryl Mitchell had painstakingly grafted through ten overs to stitch together a 30-run partnership, Brar shattered the resistance in the space of four deliveries. He first lured Latham into a mistimed lofted drive caught cleanly by Naman Dhir, before following it up with the prized scalp of Glenn Phillips, who fell for a four-ball duck after chipping a catch to Anshul Kamboj.
After 10 overs, NZ are 29/3
India asserted total dominance in the opening ten overs of the contest, ripping through New Zealand’s top order with a fiery display of seam bowling to leave the tourists reeling at 29/3. Arshdeep Singh set the tone from the outset with an exceptionally disciplined opening spell of 4-1-4-0, which allowed Auqib Nabi to strike decisively at the other end.
Nabi dismissed Tim Seifert for a five-ball duck before inducing an edge from Will Young into the gloves of KL Rahul, and first-change seamer Anshul Kamboj compounded New Zealand’s woes by breaching Henry Nicholls’ defence to rattle his stumps.
- India have won the toss and have opted to field (47 overs per side)
New Zealand vs. India 2nd ODI is scheduled to start at 7:30 a.m. IST on Saturday, November 7 with the toss taking place 30 minutes before kick-off.
