New York Giants vs. Arizona Cardinals player of the game: LB Arvell Reese
The New York Giants (3-1) came away with a wild 36-24 win over the Arizona Cardinals (1-3) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
There were a handful of players that shined in this win on both sides of the ball. Wide receiver Malik Nabers had a breakout game where he recorded six receptions for 112 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, tight end Isaiah Likely had seven receptions for 66 yards.
However, the player of the game honors go to rookie linebacker Arvell Reese, who was all over the field Sunday.
The No. 5 overall pick from the 2026 NFL draft recorded nine tackles (all solo), one tackle for loss, one interception and three passes defensed.
His interception in the second quarter helped set up a touchdown before the half. He also got a hit on Jacoby Brissett in the middle of a throw that resulted in an interception.
Ever since the opening game of the season, Reese has been on fire. He’s been flying all around the field with confidence making plays both off the ball and as a pass rusher. His closing speed has made a massive difference for the Giants in the middle of the field.
The Giants have now won three of their first four games, and the rookie linebacker will be looking to continue his strong play against the Washington Commanders (1-3) in Landover on Oct. 11.
