New Panthers star makes strong statement about NFL’s use of turf

Another Carolina Panther has made his feelings about turf rather clear.

On Friday, linebacker Devin Lloyd was one of many NFLers to get in on the NFLPA’s #WorthTheCost campaign. Players posted their own statements to Twitter/X, advocating for a league-wide change from turf to grass fields.

Lloyd isn’t the only Panther to plant a flag for this cause. He joined running back Jonathon Brooks, who re-posted a message from San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle on Instagram last month . . .

This is a rather pertinent topic for the Panthers, as they’ve played their home games at Bank of America Stadium on a turf surface. And it’s especially important to Brooks, who is attempting to come back from a second ACL tear in his right knee.

2026 will mark Lloyd’s first season in Carolina. The Pro Bowl defender signed a three-year, $42 million deal back in the spring.
