New Mexico State unveils new Adidas uniforms for 2026
We’re in the homestretch of the college football offseason. And with the calendar flipping from June to July, that means uniform reveals are on the way.
New Mexico State launched its new uniforms on July 1, the same day the athletic department officially switched outfitters from Under Armour to Adidas. The Aggies’ 5-year contract with Adidas is now underway and will run through June 30, 2031.

New Mexico State only revealed one uniform combination in its new Adidas uniform set — white helmet, black jersey, black pants. White-black-black was a combination used one time last season in a Weekday CUSA home victory over Sam Houston. Black jerseys were worn one other time in Week 2 vs. Tulsa, but given their prominence in the Adidas reveal, they might oust maroon for the new primary jersey color.
The white helmet features a script ‘State’ logo, which has been increasingly utilized by the athletic department. The script ‘State’ first appeared on a helmet in 2023 and was the decal for seven of 12 contests in 2025 — including six of the last eight.
The black jerseys are simplified compared to the 2025 iteration. The maroon and white shoulder sleeve stripes are no more. Also, the ‘NM STATE’ emblazoned across the chest and the jersey number now appear in a bold, plain white, rather than in maroon with a white outline. Additionally, the CUSA patch takes on a new look this year, as the ‘C’ is positioned above the ‘USA’ in the logo, rather in a linear fashion.
For comparison purposes, here’s a look at New Mexico State’s previous black jersey in the Under Armour era:
New Mexico State was one of six FBS programs to switch outfitters on July 1, along with Georgia Tech (Adidas to Under Armour), Penn State (Nike to Adidas), Rice (Adidas to Nike), South Carolina (Under Armour to Nike), and Tennessee (Nike to Adidas).
The Aggies will debut their new Adidas look in Week 0 against Florida State. Kickoff in Tallahassee is slated for 7 p.m. ET, and the game will be televised by The CW Network. Their first home game transpires a week later vs. FCS program Mercyhurst, where a different combination will likely be worn.
