Nebraska baseball picked up a commitment from catcher Reese Moore on Friday afternoon. Moore is the older brother of Iowa pitcher Cole Moore, who also recently transferred to Nebraska.
The catcher began his career at Iowa and played there for his first two seasons. He then transferred to South Carolina, where he battled injuries last season. He hit .318 with one homerun and three RBI.
His best season on the diamond came in 2025. He hit .304 with nine home runs and 45 RBI. The offensive catalyst was named first-team All-Big Ten for his efforts.
This is Nebraska baseball’s third commitment in the transfer portal, and the second player from South Carolina. Utility player Caleb Hoover is the other.
Moore will bring a veteran presence to a catcher position that has a rising star in Jeter Worthley. This move gives the program additional depth as it looks to build on a memorable 2026 season.
