For the first time since 2022, Texas is heading to the College World Series.

A two-run double by former Flower Mound standout Adrian Rodriguez in the eighth inning of Game 2 of the Austin Super Regional gave the Longhorns a 6-5 lead over Oregon, and they held on in the ninth to punch their ticket to Omaha.

After blowing out the Ducks in Game 1 on Saturday, 11-3, Texas got a response from the Big Ten team on Sunday. First inning homers by Aiden Robbins and Carson Tinney gave the Longhorns a quick 2-0 lead, but Oregon scored five unanswered runs between the second and seventh innngs. Texas loaded the bases in the eighth, however, and Rodriguez’s clutch hit brought home Anthony Pack Jr. and Tinney with the tying and go-ahead runs.
