A Nigerian Navy lieutenant and a 51-year-old driver, Felix Dickson, have been arrested after 248 moulds of suspected cannabis were allegedly found in their vehicle in Rivers State.

The arrest was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama, who said operatives of the Safer Highway Patrol intercepted the suspects along the East-West Road.

According to the report, the suspects were conveying five large “Ghana-Must-Go” bags containing the suspected cannabis, popularly known as “Scottish Loud.”

Dickson, from Owhe Community in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, was reportedly driving from Lagos to Port Harcourt when the patrol team intercepted the vehicle.

Makama said Dickson told investigators during preliminary questioning that the naval officer contracted him to drive the vehicle and deliver the consignment to Port Harcourt.

The two suspects and the recovered exhibits have been taken into custody.
