It appears it’ll be a battle between the Spartans and Wolverines for an elite-level prospect.
Cam Robinson of Elite Prospects reported on Wednesday that prized defenseman Landon DuPont is down to Michigan and Michigan State for where he’ll play his college hockey next season. According to Robinson, both Denver and Minnesota are no longer in the running, which leaves it down to the Spartans and Wolverines.
Robinson added that DuPont is expected to visit both Michigan-based schools next week, with a decision expected after that.

Sounds like Minnesota is out. Expectation is Denver will get Daxon Rudolph. Leaving Michigan and MSU to battle it out.

DuPont played in the WHL this past season, starring on the blue line for the Everett Silvertips. He finished the regular season with 73 points (18 goals and 55 assists) across the 63 games played. Additionally, he recorded 23 points (5 goals and 18 assists) in 18 playoff games this year.
DuPont is considered a future top 10 pick in the 2027 NHL Draft and would be an instant game changer for either the Spartans and Wolverines next year. Both Michigan and Michigan State are already projected to be preseason top five teams next year, but the addition of DuPont could push one of these rivals ahead of the other.
