A Michigan State football recruiting target has committed to a fellow Big Ten rival.
mugerwa-46159828/">Arnold Mugerwa of Johnstown, Pa. announced his commitment to Rutgers earlier this week, with his commitment following an official visit with the rutgers-scarlet-knights/3419/" target="_blank">Scarlet Knights last weekend. Mugerwa was set to be taking an official visit to Michigan State in late June but that is not considered to be cancelled following his commitment to Rutgers.
Mugerwa is listed as a three-star wide receiver prospect, with a recruiting rating of 88.50 in 247Sports composite ratings system. He ranks as the No. 55 wide receiver and No. 13 player from Pennsylvania in 247Sports rankings for the 2027 class.
Mugerwa picked Rutgers over notable offers from Michigan State, Kentucky, Florida State, Cincinnati, Duke, Maryland, NC State, Pitt, Syracuse, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest. Michigan State is in on a few other notable wide receiver prospects so their priority will need to lock in on those guys with Mugerwa now off the board and heading to another Big Ten school.
A Spartan target at receiver is off the board. Arnold Mugerwa commits to Rutgers, cancelling his visit to MSU on June 19. https://t.co/s9jIPcviBk
