David Moyes confirmed Everton have received an offer for Harrison Armstrong amid speculation of a bid from Nottingham Forest.
Armstrong has impressed for the Toffees so far this season and is seen as one of their brightest prospects.
The 19-year-old started and played 87 minutes on Saturday as Everton fought back to draw 1-1 with Bournemouth thanks to James Tarkowski’s last-gasp leveller.
That came after news broke that Forest had lodged a reported £40m bid for the teenager.
Everton fans made their displeasure at a potential sale of Armstrong known during the Bournemouth match, but Moyes was unsure if the club would be keeping hold of the midfielder.
He said: “There’s been an offer. Apart from that, I don’t think there’s much else I can say, it’s a club decision.
“We don’t want to lose anybody and we still need to add players to what we’ve got. I’ve been saying it for a while.”
None of the previous 62 Premier League meetings between Tottenham and Newcastle have finished 0-0, the most played fixture in the competition never to finish goalless.

Asked about the unrest among the fanbase, Moyes added: “I think you always have to consider supporters. There’s times at clubs when people who are really powerful make difficult decisions.
“Not all decisions are popular. Sometimes they have to do it for different reasons.”
Iliman Ndiaye is another Everton player who could well move on before the transfer deadline, with Manchester City and Tottenham credited with an interest in the forward.
Everton are on four points from their two Premier League games so far, while Bournemouth are yet to win under Marco Rose.
The Cherries rode their luck in the first half, with Everton having five shots on target, their most in the opening half of a Premier League game since managing six against Tottenham in January 2025, while the Toffees’ non-penalty xG of 1.06 was their most in the first half of a league match since September last year, when they managed 1.17 v Aston Villa.
However, Bournemouth took control in the second half, after Alex Scott had given them the lead before the interval.
Rayan and Evanilson squandered great chances to double Bournemouth’s lead, before some poor defending from a corner enabled Tarkowski to drag Everton level.
“We have to deal with this,” Rose told BBC Sport. “I really appreciate the warm welcome, it was a pleasure to coach this game, it was quite open.
“We had the chance to score a second goal, but we suffered some good chances from Everton as well and conceded an unlucky goal. It doesn’t feel nice, but we just have to continue our work.
“Everyone put the effort in, then it was a bit unlucky, a bit slapstick. We work hard, then we’ll get our points.”
