Moustapha Thiam, ex-UC Bearcats center, staying at Michigan | Report

Center Moustapha Thiam, who transferred to the Michigan Wolverines after playing one season for the Cincinnati Bearcats, is staying in Ann Arbor despite the recent departure of head coach Dusty May to the NBA’s Dallas Mavericks, according to a report via Twitter/X from Jon Rothstein.

The 7-foot-2 Thiam averaged 12.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game in 31 games as a sophomore for the Bearcats during the 2025-26 season.

Thiam played at UCF as a freshman in 2024-25, averaging 10.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per game in 34 games for the Knights.

Thiam, who was born in Dakar, Senegal, committed to the Wolverines in April.
