You had to see it coming. Stephanie Vaquer will defend her WWE Women’s World Championship against Becky Lynch and Liv Morgan on October 10 at Money in the Bank. Morgan and Lynch met on Raw to determine who would get the title shot, but when their match ended in a no contest, the Money in the Bank bout was changed to a Triple Threat. We saw a little more shaping to the card as well. Here’s everything you need to know about MITB. Let’s talk wrestling.
Money in the Bank takes place Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, home of the NBA’s Pelicans. The show starts at 6 p.m. ET and streams on the ESPN app in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally.
The no contest on Raw came when Lynch accidentally struck Vaquer after Morgan ducked out of the way. Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez had already interfered at ringside, and Vaquer took down both challengers before calling out Adam Pearce, who made the Triple Threat official.
Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against LA Knight in the main event. The two came face-to-face on Raw in St. Louis, where Knight called Reigns a “corporate puppet.”
Oba Femi and Bronson Reed were booked on the Sept. 28 Raw, when Reed signed a contract Femi brought to the ring. Femi comes in after his Sunday Night’s Main Event clash with Bron Breakker in September.
Both ladder fields filled on the Oct. 2 SmackDown. Kevin Owens took the last men’s spot by beating Johnny Gargano, and Tiffany Stratton claimed the final women’s spot over Indi Hartwell and Kayden Carter.
Trick Williams enters as United States Champion and Jacy Jayne as Women’s United States Champion, so a ladder win would give either a second piece of gold.
Raw previewed both ladder matches. Je’Von Evans and Penta beat Bron Breakker and Austin Theory, and Perez pinned Lola Vice in a tag match pitting Perez and Rodriguez against Vice and Sol Ruca.
