MLB Finalizes Dodgers NLDS Schedule Amid Major Heat Concern

Major League Baseball announced the full NLDS schedule for the Los Angeles Dodgers, including dates and times for each game.

Game 1 of the NLDS will be played on Saturday, October 3rd at 1 p.m. PT on Fox. Game 2 kicks off at 5 p.m. PT on FS1 on Sunday, September 4th. Both games will be at Dodger Stadium.

Game 3 will be on Tuesday, October 6th at 3 p.m. PST on FS1, either in Atlanta or Philadelphia.

If needed, Game 4 is October 7th at 3 p.m. PST on FS1 and will also be on the road for the Dodgers, and Game 5 would be October 9th at 5 p.m. PST on Fox at Dodger Stadium.

The Dodgers are built to play in October whether it rains or shines, but the schedule means they’ll play in the middle of a heat wave.

Game 1 will be at the hottest temperatures of the day, while Game 2 comes a bit later; the Dodgers will be battling harsh conditions.

“I would probably prefer to play at night, but as far as who we play, I really don’t think we really care,” manager Dave Roberts said.

“It’s going to be a hot week, and to play at night would certainly be more beneficial.”

According to The Weather Channel, Dodger Stadium will be 100% sunny with minimal cloud cover on Saturday, and temperatures will be around 102 degrees Fahrenheit.

On Sunday, it will be 101 degrees Fahrenheit, with sunny skies and minimal cloud cover.

A 1 p.m. start also means Game 1 will have shadows, giving the pitchers an advantage, and the sun could get in the outfielders’ eyes, making defense harder, but as professionals who play 162 games in all kinds of conditions, the Dodgers will be mindful and ready.
