Marko Mitrovic is excited to watch striker Dor Turgeman grow into his goalscoring potential as New England Revolution prepare to travel to Columbus Crew in MLS.
Turgeman was on target for the Revs in their 1-1 draw with New York City FC last time out, netting the opener to give them a short-lived lead.
That draw means New England have now won just one of their last five MLS matches (D2 L2), though they remain fourth in the Eastern Conference, with a bit of breathing space over the teams below them.
If they are to get back on track, Turgeman could prove instrumental if he can find consistency to his goalscoring, having netted five times in MLS this year.
But Mitrovic is confident he will add to that tally over the rest of the season.
“Dor [Turgeman] has really high potential,” Mitrovic told The Blazing Musket Substack. “He has qualities that you can see in the training sessions.
“Now it’s about how we can put the right pieces at the right time on the field. Before we speak about scoring goals for Dor, there is something that is very important – to do the right things in the right way, those small actions.
“Not situations in terms of goal-scoring opportunities, it’s more those small actions. I said the only way that this game can reward you is if you keep going game after game.
“And in one moment where you have aggregated so many situations where you do small things in the right way, you’ll start scoring goals, and you’re not going to know where they’re coming from.”
They travel to the Columbus Crew, who were knocked out of the Leagues Cup in midweek following a 2-0 loss to Club America in the quarter-finals.
The Crew have been struggling in MLS, too, and currently sit rock-bottom of the East in 15th with 20 points, though they are only four points behind Orlando City SC in the final play-off spot.
Columbus are on a four-game winless streak in the league, and have lost each of their last three, most recently giving up a stoppage-time lead to lose 3-2 to Nashville SC.

Six of the Crew’s last nine MLS goals have come from players who were scoring their first goal of the season.
Since May 24, the only Columbus player to have multiple goals in MLS play is Daniel Gazdag (two), but he has not scored in any of the Crew’s last four games, which has coincided with their winless streak (D1 L3).
New England Revolution – Jack Harrison
Jack Harrison has recorded five assists in his first four games with New England, just one fewer than the club’s leaders for all of 2026 (Luca Langoni, Carles Gil – six each).
That is Harrison’s most assists in a single club season since he tallied seven with Leeds United in the 2022–23 Premier League season.
MATCH PREDICTION: COLUMBUS CREW WIN
New England have won each of their last two meetings with Columbus after going winless in their previous nine games in the fixture (D5 L4).
A third straight win for the Revolution would give them their longest winning streak in the series across all competitions since a three-game run in 2014, but they are not expected to do so, with the Crew tipped to use their home advantage.
Columbus suffered a 3-2 defeat last weekend, after leading 2-1 entering second-half stoppage time. The Crew have dropped 17 points from winning positions this season, most in MLS, and 31 points since the start of 2025, tied for the most with the Chicago Fire.
New England earned their second road win of the season and had their largest win away from home since May 31, 2025, with a 3-0 victory at D.C. United on August 19. The Revolution have not won consecutive road matches across all competitions since winning four straight in April-May 2025.
