Millwall boss confirms another injury problem after Crama blow

Millwall boss Alex Neil has revealed that midfielder Derek Mazou-Sacko is set for a spell on the sidelines after suffering a calf injury.

Neil explained that Mazou-Sacko aggravated the problem in training and is now set to miss several weeks.

“Unfortunately, Derek Mazou-Sacko has picked up a niggle in his calf,” Neil explained.

“He trained on Monday fine. He only played 15 minutes on Saturday, so we were actually protecting him in terms of not risking him. We did the same with Mathis Servais as well.

“On Monday, he picked up a calf, sort of a kick, but he was okay. He was fine. Didn’t even really report it that much.

“Tuesday, he came into training, went to push off and felt a sort of nick in his calf.”

A scan has since revealed the extent of the problem, Neil confirmed.

“We got it scanned, and there is going to be an issue,” he added.

“He’s probably going to be unavailable for the next few weeks.”

It follows a major injury blow for Neil’s side with Tristan Crama set for an extended period out after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury.
