Michigan State football drops Big Ten opener to Nebraska, 31-13

Michigan State and Nebraska opened up Big Ten action against one another on Saturday evening inside of Spartan Stadium. Unfortunately for Michigan State, it was one of the worst starts to conference action that the Spartans could have had.

Michigan State dropped the Big Ten opener to the Cornhuskers, 31-13.

The Spartans lost the turnover battle, 3-0, lost the sack battle 6-0, and were outgained in the game, 369-to-257. In almost all facets of the game, Nebraska dominated Michigan State.

While on the field, the results were not up to par, salt was poured in the wound for the Spartans, who lost both Jordan Hall and Cam Edwards to injury, and finished the game with four of the top five cornerbacks on the roster injured. Needless to say, the injury bug bit hard in this game, and the Spartans are aiming to avoid major losses.

Falling to 2-2 (0-1 B1G), the Spartans will be tasked with traveling to Wisconsin for a date with the Badgers next Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
