DuPont, who is projected to be the top pick for the 2027 NHL Draft, had two goals and six assists for eight points in five games for Team Canada.

It was Canada’s first victory in a major international men’s tournament in 2025-26, including the 2-1 overtime loss against Team USA at the 2026 Olympics in Italy.

“Pressure is a privilege and I think I thrive under pressure,” DuPont told TSN after the game. “I just like to zone that stuff out and play the game that I love with my teammates. Obviously, had lots of fun here with the guys and great we came out on top.”

DuPont joins a Michigan team which features five first-round picks: J.P. Hurlbert (Detroit Red Wings), Cameron Reid (Nashville Predators), Jack Nesbitt (Philadelphia Flyers), Michael Hage (Montreal Canadiens) and Will Horcoff (Pittsburgh Penguins).

“I’m super excited to go there,” DuPont told nhl.com. “They obviously have a pretty historic program. They had a good team last year and we’ll have another good team this year.”
