CINCINNATI – The first two games in Cincinnati have halted any progress that the Mets had made last weekend at home.
The Mets have been outscored 17-3 in their opening two games. They have left the bases loaded five times in the two defeats.
Now, the Mets will look to avoid the sweep in the series finale at 12:40 p.m. on Wednesday afternoon at Great American Ball Park.
Nolan McLean will be making his 15th start of the season for the Mets.
He enters with a 3-4 record, 4.01 ERA and 1.14 WHIP. Last time out, he gave up two earned runs on three hits and four walks in four innings against the Braves.
Nick Lodolo will be making his eighth start of the season for the Reds. The 28-year-old left-hander is 2-1 with a 5.21 ERA and 1.45 WHIP.
