Mets announce lineup vs Phillies for Sunday with series on line

PHILADELPHIA – After an ugly performance on Saturday afternoon, the Mets still have an opportunity to secure a series win over the Phillies.

That chance will come in the finale at 1:35 p.m. on Sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park.

The Mets floundered through Saturday’s game, committing three errors, collecting only three hits and Sean Manaea and Kodai Senga giving up a combined six runs.

Tyrone Taylor’s home run was the lone source of offense as the Mets slipped back to 17 games under .500 at 41-58 with a 6-1 loss.

The Mets will have one of their most consistent arms on the mound on Sunday as Nolan McLean gets set to make his 20th start.

McLean is 6-6 on the season with a 3.52 ERA and 1.12 WHIP. He has registered quality starts in five of his last seven outings including last time out when he allowed no earned runs (two total) in six innings with seven strikeouts against the Red Sox.

The Phillies will have Alan Rangel on the mound.

The 28-year-old right-hander has seen limited action this season, posting an 0-2 record with a 4.19 ERA and 1.40 WHIP in 19⅓ innings across five appearances.
