Coming off of a visit to Tennessee on Friday, Mercer transfer Braydon Kersey made his commitment to the Volunteers on Saturday. The two-way player made things official on social media following his quick decision.

The first baseman and right-handed pitcher will also be a two-way player for Tennessee, coming off of a huge season for Mercer. Kersey hit .325 for the Bears, smacking 21 home runs and driving in 67 runs. Kersey posted a 4.97 ERA in two seasons with Mercer on the mound, appearing in 45 games. He leaves with a 5-4 record after starting nine career games.

Kersey has two seasons of eligibility remaining, but will be eligible for next year’s MLB Draft. He’ll now have at least one season to prove himself against the stout competition of the SEC.

Tennessee has also hosted Samford outfielder Jake Souders and Northwestern pitcher Brody Trosclair on visits this weekend as Josh Elander tries to revamp the roster ahead of his second season. Former Air Force second baseman Wyatt Hanoian is also scheduled to visit this upcoming week, according to reports.
