The Management of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has approved the appointment of Professor Unu Lucy Airauhi as the Pioneer Provost of the College of Allied Health Sciences, with effect from August 1, 2025, for the 2025/2026 academic session.
Prof. Airauhi, a distinguished scholar and seasoned academic with over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and training, is a Professor of Parasitology whose contributions to the field of medical microbiology and parasitology are widely recognized.
Prior to her appointment as provost, she served as the Dean of the College of Allied Health Sciences at McPherson University, a position she assumed in October 2024 after a fulfilling academic career at the University of Benin.
She holds an Associate Diploma in Histopathology (1979), a Master’s degree in Parasitology (1990), and a Ph.D. in Medical Microbiology (1994), all from the University of Benin.
Her career spans several prestigious institutions, including Bayero University, Kano, and Virginia Technical Institute and State University, USA, where she participated in advanced research in comparative genomics, bioinformatics, and molecular parasitology.
An accomplished researcher and prolific author, Prof. Airauhi has made significant contributions to the study of parasitic diseases and infectious agents.
