McMillan, Robinson, Downs among 5 fantasy football WR gems for Week 4

MIAMI, Sept. 30 (UPI) — Tetairoa McMillan and Wan’Dale Robinson are among my five fantasy football wide receiver gems for Week 4.

My full Top-50 wide receiver rankings are listed below. CeeDee Lamb, Jaxson Smith-Njigba, Ja’Marr Chase, Davante Adams and Amon-Ra St. Brown top that list. Chris Olave, Zay Flowers, George Pickens, Garrett Wilson and McMillan round out my Top-10 plays.

Each of my five gems at the position rank inside the Top 30 of my Top-50 rankings, meaning they should be started in all leagues that have at least 10 teams and require starting three wide receivers.

Continue to monitor news at the position before throwing the injured wide receivers into starting lineups. Justin Jefferson, Jalen Coker and Mike Evans are among the top pass catchers dealing with ailments.

Davante Adams

Adams should never leave fantasy football team starting lineups, but he could provide even more than his typical production this week when the Los Angeles Rams face the Philadelphia Eagles.

Adams totaled a ridiculous 332 yards and two scores off 15 catches over his last two games. He drew 23 targets and scored twice during that span, while fellow Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua sat out with a hip injury.

The Rams are set to take on an Eagles defense that just allowed 195 yards and two scores to Chicago Bears wide receivers, who were catching passes from Case Keenum. Look for Adams to dominate this matchup, even if Nacua returns to the field.

He is my No. 4 option.

Tetairoa McMillan

McMillan sits at No. 10 in my Week 4 rankings and can be plugged in as a WR1, but is best used as a WR2. The Carolina Panthers pass catcher was held to just 17 yards off two catches in Week 3, following a 101-yard performance in Week 2. I expect stellar production from McMillan in Week 4 against the Detroit Lions.

The Lions allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to wide receivers through three weeks. They surrendered 107 yards and a score to Garrett Wilson in Week 3.

Look for McMillan to near 100 yards once again in this matchup. He also should get several opportunities to find the end zone.

Josh Downs

Downs doesn’t have the consistency to be considered an every-week starter, but should provide WR2 production in Week 4 when his Indianapolis Colts take on the Washington Commanders in London.

Downs has been a fringe WR3 so far this season. He totaled a season-high 11 targets last week, which he turned into five catches for 77 yards. He has yet to score, but experienced increased usage in each week so far this season and is trending toward a breakout game.

I think that comes this week against the Commanders, who allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers through three weeks. That run included 10 catches for 128 yards and two scores to Jaxson Smith-Njigba in Week 3 and eight catches for 153 yards and two scores to CeeDee Lamb in Week 2.

Downs obviously hasn’t proven that he can provide the elite stability of Smith-Njigba or Lamb, but he could post mid-range WR2 statistics against this vulnerable defense. He lands at No. 18 in my Week 4 rankings.

Wan’Dale Robinson

Robinson is among my Week 4 waiver wire/free agent targets and sits at No. 30 in my weekly rankings. The Tennessee Titans playmaker is WR44 so far this season on a fantasy points per game basis.

He was WR19 last week, when he caught seven passes for 57 yards and a score. Robinson, who drew a season-high 11 targets in Week 3, caught just one pass for 9 yards in Week 2. He has a very low floor, which brings some risk into the proposition of starting him, but I would take a shot this week when the Titans face the Baltimore Ravens.

The Ravens allowed the ninth-most receiving yards to wide receivers through three weeks. They also just surrendered a combined total of 194 yards and 14 catches to Dallas Cowboys pass catchers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in Week 3. Look for Robinson to snag at least seven catches for 80 yards in this matchup. He should approach WR2 territory if he finds the end zone.

Jakobi Meyers

Like Robinson, Meyers is among my top waiver wire/free agent targets. The Jacksonville Jaguars pass catcher was WR16 in Week 3, when he found the end one for the second time in three weeks.

Meyers also drew a season-high eight targets, which he translated into seven catches for 64 yards in the Jaguars’ win over the New England Patriots on Sunday in Jacksonville, Fla.

This week, Meyers and the Jaguars will take on the Cincinnati Bengals in what I expect to be a high-scoring clash. The Bengals were somewhat stingy against opposing wide receivers through their first three games, but did just surrender a score to three separate Pittsburgh Steelers wide receivers in Week 3.

Meyers has a great chance to score in this meeting. He also is a near-lock for four to five catches, but is mostly a touchdown-or-bust play. He sits at No. 30 in my Top-50 wide receiver rankings.
