Matt LaFleur takes 12-3 record vs. Bears into Sunday's showdown

Bears coach Ben Johnson has made it clear that he doesn’t like the Packers. Green Bay coach Matt LaFleur has given the Bears plenty of reasons not to like the Packers.

Since arriving as head coach of the Packers in 2019, LaFleur has a 12-3 record against the Bears, including the postseason. His 80 percent win rate is the highest that any coach has ever generated against the Bears, with a minimum of 10 games played.

Johnson, of course, has won the last two — late in the 2025 regular season and then in the wild-card round. The Bears haven’t beaten the Packers three times in a row since 2005-06. They’re favored to win at Lambeau Field for the first time in 20 years.

Chicago’s defense has become a real strength. The Bears have gone three straight games allowing 12 or fewer points. The last team to do that for four games in a row was the 2017 Eagles, who’d go on to win the Super Bowl that year.
