Mariners reportedly hiring Cubs’ director of player development Jason Kanzler as next manager

The Seattle Mariners are reportedly betting on a burgeoning baseball mind in 36-year-old Jason Kanzler.

Kanzler, who’s most recently served as the Chicago Cubs’ director of player development, is set to become the Mariners’ next manager, according to multiple reports Tuesday.

He’ll begin his stay at the helm of Seattle’s clubhouse without any prior experience as a skipper — at any level — according to MLB.com.
