Yesterday, Ryan noted the Seattle Mariners had the chance to do something dumb. The option remains on the table tonight, particularly with Shohei Ohtani receiving a rest day. Against the resurgent Roki Sasaki and the Los Angeles Dodgers, assuming simplicity is simple-minded itself. But Bryan Woo is facing his greatest enemy, with nothing to do with Kyle Tucker or Max Muncy. The .304/.344/.479 line he’s allowed on the road, with a .354 wOBA, is about equivalent to facing Muncy, Randy Arozarena, or Ketel Marte every single plate appearance. He should consider simply returning to magic fastballs instead of these miserable, mundane ones.

With only four games remaining between today and the trade deadline Monday, Seattle needs every bit of clarity they can find.
