MYSORE: Former Karnataka skipper and star batter Manish Pandey, who hasn’t featured in the state team since last season, has been named in the 34-member probables list for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament. The tournament begins on November 14. Pandey’s last competitive match was in May this year, when he featured in Kolkata Knight Riders’ home game against Delhi Capitals. However, Pandey does not figure among the Vijay Hazare Trophy probables.
Vihari out of the season
India Test batter Hanuma Vihari, who signed up for Tripura from Andhra last season, has made himself unavailable for the team’s current Ranji Trophy campaign. The 33-year-old featured in the season opener against Hyderabad but has missed the previous two matches.
“We have been told Vihari will not be available due to personal reasons,” said Tripura coach Satrajit Lahiri after his team’s heavy defeat to Karnataka in Mysuru on Thursday.
Lahiri added that the state association has sought BCCI’s permission for a replacement.
