Manchester City hijack Arsenal move for Jeremy Monga

According to multiple sources, Manchester City have reached an agreement with Leicester City over the proposed transfer of Jeremy Monga. They’ve also agreed personal terms with the player’s camp, and the deal is now set to be completed.

Arsenal were reportedly in long talks with Leicester over Monga, but there was no breakthrough in the negotiations and Manchester City stepped in to take advantage of the situation. It is believed that newly appointed City boss Enzo Maresca was directly involved in the talks with the player, presenting the project and Monga’s intended role in the squad.

The full package – fixed fee and add-ons combined – will cost City £10 million.

At the age of just 16, Monga is one of more exciting prospects of English football at the moment. He plays mostly on the left wing, but can play on the right as well. Having risen through the Leicester youth ranks, he made a total of 37 appearances for the Foxes at senior level, scoring one goal and assisting twice.
