According to reports in Germany, both Manchester City and Liverpool are closely monitoring Felix Nmecha after the midfielder’s impressive performances for Borussia Dortmund.
The scouting departments from both Premier League clubs have compiled detailed reports on the Germany international, with representatives recently attending Dortmund’s 3-0 win over Paderborn, where Nmecha came off the bench and scored twice.
Manchester City’s interest is particularly notable given that Nmecha came through the club’s academy before leaving for Germany. City reportedly view the 25-year-old as a potential option to add physicality and technical quality to their midfield. Liverpool are also said to admire his athleticism, energy and ability to operate as a box-to-box midfielder.
However, there have been no formal talks or offers from either club. Dortmund are understood to have no intention of selling Nmecha during the January transfer window and consider him a key part of their plans.
The Bundesliga side are in a strong negotiating position, with Nmecha under contract until 2030, and they would only consider selling if they received an exceptional offer in the region of €80-90 million.
