Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has returned to Trabzonspor on a second season-long loan move.

Onana, 30, made 40 appearances for the Süper Lig side during last season’s loan, helping them to finish third in the league and win the Turkish Cup.

The Press Association understands Trabzonspor will cover Onana’s entire wages for the season, despite his wages increasing as a result of United’s qualification for the Champions League next term. The Turkish side will also pay an undisclosed loan fee which includes a number of achievable bonuses.

A statement from United said: “Everyone at United wishes Andre the best of luck for the campaign ahead.”

Onana has made 102 appearances for United since joining from Inter Milan in a £47 million ($62.6 million) deal in the summer of 2023.

His contract at Old Trafford runs until 2028 but he appears to have no future at the club, having lost his place at the start of last season to Altay Bayindir before the Senne Lammens was signed to become the first-choice keeper.
