Man United tell clubs in Italy & England their £40m asking price for 25-year-old

Manchester United appear willing to listen to offers for Joshua Zirkzee, but they have no intention of allowing the Dutch forward to leave Old Trafford on the cheap.

The 25-year-old is attracting interest from Juventus, Napoli and Aston Villa as the summer transfer window enters its final stages.

United’s attacking options have changed significantly, and Zirkzee’s position in the squad is far less secure than it once was.

However, the club are reportedly demanding at least £40 million before considering a permanent sale.

According to The Sun, Man United will not sell Zirkzee for less than £40m, despite growing interest from Juventus, Napoli and Aston Villa.

The forward has already been linked with a return to Serie A throughout the summer.

Juventus have made enquiries about his availability, while Napoli are also exploring attacking options before the deadline.

That interest is supported by Football Italia, which reported that both Juventus and Napoli remain interested in Zirkzee. However, either Italian club may first need to make room in their squad before completing a move.

Zirkzee has not fully established himself as a guaranteed starter at Old Trafford, but that does not mean the club should simply accept a low offer.

He is still only 25, has experience in both the Premier League and Serie A, and retains enough technical quality to attract several major clubs.

The £40m valuation also appears designed to protect United financially. Selling for significantly less would represent poor business, particularly when multiple teams are interested.

From Zirkzee’s perspective, a return to Italy could be appealing. His best football before joining United came in Serie A, and both Juventus and Napoli could potentially offer him a clearer attacking role.

Aston Villa would provide a different opportunity, allowing him to remain in England and potentially take on greater responsibility in the Premier League.
