Jeremy Monga expressed his delight at joining the “best club in England over the past 10 years” after the completion of his switch to Manchester City on Saturday.
Monga has put pen to paper on a five-year deal with the Citizens for a reported £10m transfer fee from Leicester City, who were relegated from the Championship last season.
The winger, who only turned 17 on Friday, was also of interest to Premier League champions Arsenal, but he has chosen to join Enzo Maresca’s side on a contract until 2031.
Monga made his Premier League debut in a 3-0 defeat to Newcastle United in April 2025, aged 15 years and 271 days old. He is the third-youngest player to play in the top flight, after Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri (15y 181d) and Max Dowman (15y 235d).
He made 30 appearances in all competitions for Leicester in 2025-26, scoring one goal and providing two assists, but he was unable to save the Foxes from relegation.
In total, Monga appeared 37 times for Leicester, with seven of those outings coming in the Premier League, though he is now focused on making an impact at City.
“When I became aware that Manchester City were interested, I knew instantly this was the right choice for me,” Monga told the club’s website.
“For any young footballer, to become part of this amazing club is a dream come true. This has been the best club in England over the past 10 years.
“And it has also handed opportunities to players from the academy like Phil Foden and Nico O’Reilly, which shows that the pathway is there.
“It is a privilege to be here, and I’m delighted to have joined.”

Monga is City’s third signing this summer, having already completed a £116m deal for Elliot Anderson along with the addition of Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Pierce Charles, who has been sent out on a season-long loan to Queen’s Park Rangers.
The Citizens are preparing for their first full campaign under Maresca, with their domestic campaign kicking off in the Community Shield against Arsenal on August 16.
Bournemouth are their opponents on the opening day of their Premier League season at Etihad Stadium a week later before a trip to Crystal Palace.
