A man has been charged with several offences after a car crashed through the wall of a bowling alley in Derbyshire.

Three people were injured after a crash in Derby Road, Ilkeston, which involved two cars, one of which went through the side of MFA Bowl shortly before 17:00 BST on Friday, said police.

The BMW crossed all 16 lanes before coming to a stop on the other side of the building.

Derbyshire Police said a 21-year-old, of Ilkeston, has been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, criminal damage – recklessly endangering life, failing to provide a specimen for analysis and assault.

The man was remanded in custody and will appear at Derby Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Derby Road was closed for five hours before being reopened.

On Saturday, MFA Bowl said the bowling alley would remain closed “until further notice”.
