Malik Davis set for surgery

Dallas Cowboys RB Malik Davis (hip) is scheduled to have hip surgery Saturday, Sept. 12, and will be placed on the Reserve/Injured list, according to a source.

Why it Matters: With Davis out of action, expect Javonte Williams to have all the touches he can handle in the season opener. Emari Demercado figures to serve as the backup for now, but the Cowboys will likely add another running back moving forward.
