The striker spoke to La Gazzetta dello Sport, and here’s an excerpt: “One of the reasons that convinced me to leave the Premier League to move to Italy in January was the guarantee that I would play in the center of the attack. My conversation with Gasperini influenced my decision. For me, it was a very important factor.”
“I’m more than convinced I made the right choice. So far, everything is wonderful: the welcome, the integration, the relationships with the people. Rome is a fantastic place to be. We’re all very happy, because I’ve settled into reality quickly.”
“I arrived full of enthusiasm and motivation. Luckily, everything went well. But it was Roma’s merit, not mine. If we hadn’t all pulled together, we wouldn’t have achieved our goal. He scored 14 goals in one group, the most prolific he’d been since his time at PSV. I always try to give my best. Sometimes I succeed, sometimes less so.”
