The teenager finished the match with two goals and an assist for Marc Pubill, once again showing why he has become such an important figure in Spain’s attack.
De la Fuente is generally reluctant to focus too heavily on individuals, but Yamal’s display was difficult to overlook.
The Spain coach praised not only the Barcelona star’s talent but also the way he puts his ability at the service of the team.
De la Fuente praises Yamal’s impact for Spain
Yamal’s brace and assist made him the standout performer in Spain’s convincing victory, but De la Fuente believes his value goes beyond the numbers.

“Lamine is keen to keep developing, to show the world the sort of footballer he is, and we’re delighted with him because he has such a natural and humble demeanour that makes him a better player every day,” said the Spanish coach.
Yamal continues to grow on international stage
Yamal’s latest display also showed how much his influence has expanded.
His ability to create chances while remaining a direct goal threat gives Spain a strong upper hand in the final third.
De la Fuente believes the teenager’s reputation will continue to grow as he develops further.
“We’ve enjoyed his magic at the service of the team, and that makes him an even better player.

“In the future, he’ll be much more widely recognised for what he does – not just for his brilliance on the pitch as an individual, but also for his contribution to the team’s play,” he said.
Notably, the Barcelona forward was under constant scrutiny earlier in the campaign, but De la Fuente wants his development to be judged through his overall contribution rather than spectacular moments alone.
Spain coach highlights team’s ambition
While Yamal understandably dominated the headlines, De la Fuente was keen to make clear that Spain’s performance was the product of a strong collective effort.
“We’re pleased because we’ve seen a great performance. The team proves time and again that it’s full of enthusiasm, that it’s very ambitious and that it wants to improve every day.
“That’s the best news. And what’s more, the players have spectacular quality and attitude,” added the Spanish coach.
