LSU football got positive news about Trey’Dez Green on Sunday. The star tight end suffered an apparent knee injury in the second half of Saturday’s game against Ole Miss and didn’t return. According to a social media post by Green’s mother on Sunday, an MRI revealed that he didn’t suffer any tears.
The post said Green will “miss some games” due to “some bad sprains and bruises.” He suffered the injury after making a catch and getting sandwiched between two Ole Miss defenders as he was tackled. The medical team spent time with him on the field before helping to the sideline. They eventually carted him to the locker room.
The Tigers hate to lose Green for any amount of time. He’s arguably their best weapon on offense as his agility and six-foot-seven frame allow him to line up as a tight end or out wide. But it appears he hasn’t played his last game donning the purple and gold.

Before exiting against the Rebels, Green made four catches for 60 yards. His absence means other targets need to emerge for quarterback Sam Leavitt, and the Tigers don’t have much time to adjust as they welcome Texas A&M to Baton Rouge for another ranked SEC matchup.
