LOOK: Angel Reese Draws Attention For Her Animated Response After Third First-Quarter Foul

Angel Reese might have had a historic night on Tuesday, but she still couldn’t escape the talk about her early foul trouble against the Connecticut Sun

Reese may have been able to get her 100th point through a rare three-pointer later in the game to achieve some of her personal milestones, but it didn’t come without any struggle.

With over a minute left in the first quarter, Reese got into early foul trouble after getting her third foul in the game when she reached for a steal on Nell Angloma.

After being called for the foul, the Bayou Barbie was seen a bit agitated and screamed, “No!” as she looked at the referees. However, before she would lose any control of her emotions, Reese calmly walked back to their bench and was seen doing breathing exercises to calm herself down.

As she’s going to be needed by the Dream much more later in the game, Reese relied on the breathing exercise as well as bottling her emotions to get her through her foul trouble. When she checked back into the game, Reese was able to avoid any more fouls and sparked the comeback in the third quarter with her first three-pointer of the season since moving to Atlanta.

She’d then finish the game with a double-double, 12 points and 13 rebounds, helping the Dream to finish with a pretty convincing win.

The win against the Connecticut Sun didn’t come as easily as Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream has expected.

At the start of the third quarter, their one-point lead from halftime was quickly erased by the Sun and turned into a five-point lead in a span of two minutes. The back-and-forth continued but the Sun managed to keep the lead to four points with about a minute left in the third quarter.

That’s when Reese decided to wave her magic wand and turned the tables around. After scoring a three-pointer, Reese managed to earn two more points from the charity stripe to give them a one-point lead, giving the much-needed boost they were looking for.

In the fourth quarter, Reese and the Dream were able to hold Connecticut to just nine points as they sailed towards a 16-point win.

After the game, veteran leader Allisha Gray showered Reese with a lot of praise because of how she lifted the entire team’s spirit.

“Even when things aren’t going her way, she remains positive throughout the game. In the first half, she was in a little bit of foul trouble, but she stayed positive and stayed locked into the game,” Allisha Gray said on Reese.

She added, “When she came back in, she made some big baskets for us. She’s a great teammate, a positive and fun person to be around, and a great individual. She’s just that energetic bunny.”
