Texas Longhorns linebacker Rasheem Biles and defensive lineman Maraad Watson earned SEC weekly honors following their performances in the Longhorns’ 31-3 victory over Mississippi State. Biles was named SEC co-defensive player of the week for the third time this season after recording eight tackles, three sacks, four tackles for loss and two forced fumbles. Both forced fumbles came on sacks, including a second-quarter strip sack that set up Watson’s 61-yard fumble return touchdown and extended Texas’ lead to 17-0 before halftime. Meanwhile, Watson earned SEC co-defensive lineman of the week honors for the first time in his collegiate career. The junior defensive tackle finished with three tackles and a scoop-and-score touchdown (sensationally covered, as you can witness for yourself in this clip of announcers’ reaction to the score) that covered 61 yards in 8.9 seconds.
“BALL IS OUT! THE BALL IS OUT! AND IT’S IN THE HANDS OF WATSON! 333-POUND MARAAD WATSON! LIKE A TRACTOR TRAILER GOING THROUGH THE TEXAS NIGHT… GET THAT GUY SOME OXYGEN!”
