London City Lionesses have completed the signing of Spanish youth international midfielder Daniela Arques from Sporting Clube de Portugal on a three-year deal.
WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Pride this evening.
The 20-year-old midfielder joined Sporting last summer and she impressed in her one season with the club. Arques made 32
appearances for Sporting in all competitions while she provided three assists.
Arques started out with SMX Athletic Club de Murcia before joining Alhama CF. The player then made the move to Levante UD before joining Sporting last July.
On the international stage, Arques has represented Spain at various youth levels up to and including Under-20 level.
After joining London City Lionesses, Arques said “I’m really excited to be joining London City and can’t wait to get started.
“Coming to the UK to play in the Women’s Super League is a brilliant opportunity and I’m looking forward to developing as a player and as a person. Being surrounded by experienced players and learning from them every day is something I’m really excited about.
“I’m looking forward to working with Eder Maestre, the coaching staff and all my new teammates and doing everything I can to help the team have a successful season.
“I also can’t wait to meet our supporters at our games in Bromley. I’ve heard great things about the atmosphere and I’m really looking forward to getting the season underway.”
Arques is London City Lionesses’ eighth signing of the summer transfer window.
