Giovani Lo Celso insisted he is “very happy” at Real Betis as he brushed off rumours linking him with a move to River Plate.
The 30-year-old joined Betis in 2024 from Tottenham and has made 66 appearances for the LaLiga side, scoring 12 goals and recording six assists.
Lo Celso helped Betis reach the Conference League final in 2024-25, when they lost to Chelsea in the showpiece, while they progressed to the quarter-finals of the Europa League this season.
The Argentina international has, however, struggled with injury since his move to Spain, missing over two months of action this season with a hamstring problem.
He also missed 20 games for club and country in 2024-25 through various injuries, including another hamstring issue.
His performances for Betis earned him a spot in Argentina’s World Cup squad, and the midfielder netted in their win over Jordan.

After the victory, Lo Celso shut down any rumours suggesting he wanted to leave Betis this summer.
“It’s not the time to talk about that,” said Lo Celso, whose Betis contract expires in June 2028.
“I don’t think it’s something that’s going to happen. I have a contract with Betis, I’m very happy here.
“I’m 100% focused on the World Cup and representing this shirt. Something very special is coming up.”
