Jayden Maiava should outplay Demond Williams in USC's Week 5 game

As Big Ten play continues, some games will feature two highly talented quarterbacks. USC football against the Washington Huskies meets that description. Demond Williams has not played up to standard, but he could be due for a top-level performance. Jayden Maiava will try to put his team back on the right track this week.

Here is my take on which quarterback will perform the best this week in USC versus Washington:

Demond Williams, so far this season, has been far from a Heisman candidate. The Huskies have been winning games, but they have not been winning them consistently because Demond Williams is a star quarterback. In fact, last week they came up short to Minnesota, and Williams got outplayed by Drake Lindsey.

This season, Demond Williams has 7 passing touchdowns, 1129 yards, and 3 interceptions. He leads the team with 165 yards on the ground. That production is a step down from who he was last season. His supporting cast and offensive line play look like good reasons for his regression. Many are alluding to the fact that he wanted to leave Washington for LSU as the reason for his poor play as well.

USC Trojans‘ defense is susceptible to giving good performances to their opponents, but I see this Trojans defense buckling down and limiting Demond Williams to another average game. He will be good for 1 or 2 highlight plays, though, as usual.

I am taking Jayden Maiava to outplay the talented Huskies quarterback, Demond Williams. Jayden Maiava and this young talent on offense will put up the type of production they have consistently. This offense will score 30 points, and Maiava will deliver an efficient passing performance. Maiva will be good for 3 touchdowns and a 300-yard passing performance. His run as the leading passer in the nation will not come to a halt against the Huskies’ defense.

USC Trojans will come out of this game victorious due to Jayden Maiava being the best quarterback on the field and leading this offense to a bounce-back game.
